GOVERNANCE
The BC Water & Waste Association (BCWWA) is a not-for-profit association incorporated under the BC Societies Act. The Constitution and Bylaws outline the mandate and governance of our organization. The BCWWA is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by the members, and comprised of eight (8) Directors and three (3) ex-officio representatives from our affiliate organizations: the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA), American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Water Environment Federation (WEF).
A Leadership Council comprised of chairs from the BCWWA’s committees provides guidance and input to the Board about the Association’s goals and strategies.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The role of the Board is to provide strategic direction for the organization based on input from members and other stakeholders in the water sector. The Board oversees the management of the organization by monitoring compliance with written policies that describe the organization’s Ends (goals), governance, executive limitations and Board-CEO relationship.
